Helipad — Prince Georges' County Hospital
The project consisted of first evaluating the existing 9 story hospital. The existing structure is cast-inplace concrete.. The elevated helipad was to be placed above the existing penthouse roof level. The design was a 70'x70' steel framed with heated concrete deck. The design required the extension of 2 of the 3 existing elevator shafts and the relocation of the associated equipment. We also provided a new elevator lobby and walkway at the Helipad level and new elevator machine room.
